Despite an unusual seasonal storm that caused rain for all but about 2 hours of the day, the first annual "No Gas Nationals" was a success! Bad weather at an outdoor event separates the men from the boys and shows who the real hardcore riders are! For our first race The Eddies Club chose a hill that is not too steep; this was to insure rider safety and to accommodate vehicles that might be a little on the sketchy side of building - which is always a factor when dealing with home-made garage monsters! Please scroll down to see some of the builds and people who participated. If you were in attendance then The Eddies Club wishes to extend our sincere thanks. If you were not in attendance then we hope to see you at the next race!
The gravity bike below was this years winner! Built and raced by Joel Dyke, and modeled by his wife Michelle Davis. Joel and Michelle have been supporters of these kinds of events for many years, and Michelle even organizes an annual water race in Kansas City, Missouir called "The Trashboat Regatta."
Below: This years "Best Of Show" was Richard Renner's "Coffin Car." This thing is slick!
Below: Weird Harold Simmons of "Weirdos Tattoos" got in on the action. He piloted this bike to a near victory!
Below: This car came from Lawrence, Kansas and impressed everyone!
Below: Micheal Dodd piloted the only streetluge that registered at this event. We hope to see more of these machines racing in the future!
